Dr. Dokukin earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Hunter College in New York City and his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in New York City. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Downstate Medical Center and his residency (with a term as Chief Resident) in pain medicine and rehabilitation at the Montefiore Medical Center and the Jacobi Medical Center, also in New York City. He completed a fellowship in spine, pain and musculoskeletal/sports medicine at the Lags Spine and Sports Medical Center in Santa Monica, CA.

Currently, Dr. Dokukin is the Medical Director at St. Mary Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, CA and an Attending Physician at the Health South Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital in Tustin, CA, as well as a President of the Proprius Health Medical Group, which specializes in inpatient rehabilitation.

Dr. Dokukin has had extensive training in classical dance at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia and the Julliard School in New York City. He was a ballet dancer with the American Ballet Theater for five years. He volunteers as company physician for Orange County Ballet Theater in Laguna Hills, CA and is a Consulting Physician for the dance department at the California State University in Long Beach, CA.
