Bio

Dr. Emad earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the State University of New York at Oneonta, where also minored in biology and mathematics. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center, Brooklyn, NY. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of California at Irvine (UCI) Medical Center, Orange, CA, and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry) and pain medicine. He specializes in electrodiagnostic medicine and is also a qualified medical evaluator for the state of California.

Dr Emad founded and served as medical director of the Southland Injury Medical Center in Los Angeles, and co-director of the traumatic brain injury unit at Central Coast Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Santa Barbara, Calif. He founded Avicenna Health Solutions in Los Angeles last year. It focuses on disorders of the muscles, bones and nervous system with emphasis on restorations of function and pain management.

Dr. Emad is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and various other professional societies. His research has been published in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Journal of Trauma and other academic publications.
