Dr. Kamdar earned her medical degree from the Seth GS Medical College, University of Bombay, Bombay, India followed by an Internship at the KEM Hospital in the same city. In The United States she completed an internship in internal medicine at the Lutheran Hospital in Baltimore, MD and a residency in internal medicine, initially at the Lamuel Shattuck Hospital in Boston, MA and thereafter at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles. She also completed a fellowship in nephrology at the Los Angeles County / University of Southern California Medical Center, also in Los Angeles.
After a year at the UCLA Wadsworth VA Medical Center as a Staff Nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Kamdar commenced a private practice specializing in internal medicine and nephrology. Since 1978, she has been affiliated with White Memorial Hospital. She has served as Medical Director of various nephrology services in Los Angeles, including out-patient and in-patient hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units.
