Bio

Dr. Nandakumar earned a bachelor's degree in biology and economics from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He undertook a residency in surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in colon and rectal cancer and surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and advanced training in upper gastrointestinal and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is currently in private practice in New York City and serves as a member of the surgical faculty at Weill Cornell, where he specializes in surgical oncology with an emphasis on colorectal, gastrointestinal and HPB procedures.

Dr. Nandakumar's research has been published in a variety of medical journals, and he has made presentations at meetings of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Society for Bariatric Surgery and the Society of Surgical Oncologists, among others.
