Bio
Dr. Brien earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. He completed an internship in general surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University, New York City, and a residency in orthopedic surgery at King/Drew School of Medicine, Los Angeles. Thereafter he completed a fellowship in orthopedic oncology at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. From 1993-2004, he served as Director of Musculoskeletal Tumor Service at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Los Angeles. From 2004 – 2007 he served as Fellowship Coordinator, Sarcoma Service, John Wayne Cancer Institute / St. John Health Center, Santa Monica, CA. Since 2008, he has served as Surgical Director, Sarcoma Service at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
