Bio

Dr. Melman graduated B.S. from the College of the city of New York, NY and obtained his Medical degree from the Rochester School of Medicine at Rochester, NY. Subsequently, he did his residency in Surgery at the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester and his residency in Urology at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

He spent two years at the National Institute of Child Health and Human development doing research in Gerontology and a year at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca as a clinical associate in Nephrology. He spent five years as a Urologist at the University of Indiana at Indianapolis, IN and moved to Beth Israel Hospital, New York in 1979 where he rose up the ranks and ended as Chief of Urology within six years.

He has published and lectured extensively, been a member of numerous professional societies in Nephrology and Urology and has been a mentor to many Urologists who are spread around the world. Currently, he is Professor and Chairman of Urology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center and is an adjunct Professor of Urology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, all in New York.
