Dr. Behzad obtained his Medical education at the Seth G.S. Medical College, University of Bombay, India and had his Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at the Harlem Hospital Center, Columbia University, New York. He completed his Cardiology fellowship at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical center, NY and his Electrophysiology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, Boston, MA.

Subsequently, he was at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA for seven years in Cardiology as Director of the Electrophysiology training program. Since 2001, he is at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA and is currently a Professor of Medicine.
