Bio

Dr. Elkayam obtained his medical degree from the University of Vienna, Austria and from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Ichilov Hospital, Sorasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv.

After immigrating to the U.S., Dr. Elkayam completed his fellowship in cardiology at the Albert Einstein Medical center in New York City and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After a period of two years as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of Coronary Care Unit at the UC Irvine Medical Center, Irvine, CA, he moved to the Los Angeles County – USC Medical Center, where he rose from Assistant Professor of Medicine to full professor. He is an internationally recognized expert in pregnancy-related heart failure and heart disease.
